Nature & Environmental Production · Australia

Stories about
the natural world.

Documentary. Advertising. Branded film. Broadcast. Whatever format your story demands, Natural History Studios Australia delivers it — with award-winning crew, exceptional access to locations and contributors, and a fully equipped Gold Coast studio.

Why Natural History Studios

One production partner.
Every format. Australia-wide.

Whether you're a broadcaster needing Australian sequences, a brand building an environmental campaign, a government body communicating conservation policy, or a corporation with a sustainability story to tell — we bring the same thing every time: broadcast-standard craft, genuine access, and a crew network that no production service can replicate.

"Della's access negotiation skills are second to none — she got us brilliant story access and great contributors from government scientists, leading shark experts and indigenous communities."

What we offer

Getting nature on screen in Australia
is harder than it looks.

The access, the crew, the locations, the wildlife — none of it is on a database. It takes years of relationships. That's what we bring.

Broadcasters & Streamers

You need Australia.
We make it happen.

UK, US, and European production companies need an Australian partner who delivers broadcast-standard work — not just a local fixer. We bring editorial input, genuine access, and the same broadcast credits you're pitching to.

Brands & Corporations

Your story deserves
to be believed.

Environmental content only works if it's credible. Audiences — and their trust — are not won with generic footage and stock locations. We bring the craft, access, and authenticity that makes people actually watch.

Government & NGOs

Science that reaches
the people who need it.

Complex environmental science, conservation policy, and Indigenous knowledge — translated into content that meets compliance standards and moves the audiences it's made for. We've delivered for DFAT, federal environment departments, and leading Australian universities.

How we work together

Three steps to your
Australian production.

01

Tell us your story

Share your project, brief, or idea — broadcast pitch, brand campaign, government program, or something still taking shape. We'll tell you honestly what's possible and what it takes.

02

We open the doors

Access to locations, scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, and government bodies that no production database can provide. Award-winning crew assembled around your specific needs.

03

We deliver the story

Broadcast-standard content, on time, to the editorial and compliance standards of your platform — whether that's Netflix, a brand campaign, or a government communication program.

Full capability detail

A genuine creative and production partnership for international broadcasters — not just a local fixer. We bring editorial input, Australian relationships, and broadcast credentials to co-productions with UK, US, and European partners.

  • Australian broadcaster and Screen Australia relationships
  • Story development, scripting, and editorial producing
  • Access to government, scientific, and Indigenous story owners
  • Finance, incentive, and co-production treaty navigation

Brands, corporations, and NGOs with a story about the natural world need more than a production crew. They need a partner who understands what makes environmental content credible — and what makes audiences actually watch it.

  • Environmental brand films and campaign content
  • Corporate sustainability and ESG storytelling
  • NGO and conservation campaign production
  • Broadcast-quality craft for non-broadcast clients
  • Authentic access to scientists, rangers, and Indigenous contributors
Brand storytelling consultancy →

Nature and wildlife content for advertising demands the same access, the same specialist crew, and the same patience as broadcast — with the added complexity of brand requirements and tight turnarounds. We've navigated both.

  • TVC and digital advertising in natural locations
  • Wildlife and macro sequences for commercial use
  • Studio production for advertising content
  • Animal wranglers, specialists, and production design
  • Permits, access, and environmental compliance

Government agencies, research institutions, and science bodies need content that meets compliance standards and still reaches the audience it's made for. We've delivered for DFAT, state and federal environment departments, and major Australian universities.

  • Environmental and conservation policy communication
  • Science translation for public and policy audiences
  • AusAID and international development program content
  • Indigenous land management and cultural content
  • Educational content for schools and institutions

Australia's top natural history crew — award-winning DOPs, macro specialists, drone operators, sound recordists, field producers, and animal wranglers — available to any production working in this country. Built over fifteen years in the field.

  • Award-winning DOPs with natural history specialisation
  • Macro and specialist cinematography
  • Drone operators — CASA licensed
  • Animal wranglers and wildlife handlers
  • Field producers and fixers, Australia-wide
  • Full production management and logistics

The access that defines the quality of a natural history production isn't on a location database. It's built over years of relationships with Parks agencies, researchers, Traditional Owners, and the scientists doing the most important work in their fields.

  • National parks, reef, rainforest, and desert access
  • Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service relationships
  • Research institutions: Griffith University, UQ, JCU
  • Indigenous knowledge holders and land managers
  • Leading scientists as on-camera contributors
  • Remote logistics and environmental permits

About the studio

Built for stories about the natural world.

Natural History Studios Australia was founded on a simple premise: the craft and access that delivers blue-chip broadcast natural history should be available to every client who needs to tell a story about the natural world — regardless of whether their end platform is Netflix or a brand campaign.

That means award-winning crew, genuine location and contributor access, a fully equipped Gold Coast studio, and a founder with fifteen years of production credits across the world's most demanding broadcasters. The same standard applies to every project we take on — broadcast, brand, advertising, or government.

We work selectively. Every project gets the full attention of our founder and lead producer, not a junior team. If you need someone who will care about the story as much as you do, let's talk.

Della Golding

Founder · Producer / Director

Della began her career as a wildlife ranger and park handler — working with 5-metre saltwater crocodiles, herding cassowaries, relocating nuisance wildlife — before transitioning into production in 2009. That field knowledge, combined with formal craft training and fifteen years of international broadcast credits, shapes everything Natural History Studios Australia delivers.
